When I started Schmooz Media, I didn't know exactly what to offer my clients. I made a short business plan, knowing that I wanted to get to doing and not just "sit around planning." I wanted to dive in head first, make things happen for the small businesses that were showing trust in me, and get compensated for my time and hard work. I felt that I would be able to take my business to a certain level. I now know so much more about how to keep budgets low and results high so that small businesses see excellent return on their investments. As a business owner, I know first-hand that every marketing and advertising dollar needs to go the extra mile.
My business continues to change, as will yours, but one thing is for sure: Having a solid strategy is extremely important.
Having something to benchmark against has helped me stay clear on my progress while adjusting goals and changing assumptions. I review my own strategy every few months, and in between, I just work, work, and then WORK. I do the same thing for my clients. Although we do monthly bench marking, we must always allow for results so we can learn what does or does not work.
There is not one magical recipe for marketing and social media success, and finding a custom balance for myself, my clients and our communities is a priority.

Zoe Share, founder and Chief Executive Schmoozer, started Schmooz Media Ltd. after she completed her Masters of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology program at the University of Waterloo. Prior to founding Schmooz, Zoe was a classroom teacher. She graduated from the University of Toronto with both a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Education. Her love of language, learning and connecting people and ideas was matched by her passion for business, transparency and best practices.
