"I usually get asked how to make a post go viral,” says content writer Amanda. She’s the go-to for her friends, saying “if a friend has a random question about social media (like, ‘What's an Instagram story and how do I post one?’), they'll ask me. And my husband always asks which hashtags he should use when he posts on Instagram.”

“Most of the questions I've had about social media have come from family members, namely my mom,” says another Schmooz writer Ariel. “We have a weekly podcast on the Mary Tyler Moore Show called After All, and she wants to start helping with our social media accounts. She recently asked me to give her a crash course. Honestly, I don't think she was entirely prepared, and I may have overwhelmed her a little bit!”

Content creator and researcher Susan says “I work with a lot of clients who don't go on social media, and the first question I always get is ‘How does Instagram work?’ There are also a lot of questions about whether or not people should have a professional or a personal account, which I think is interesting because I work with a lot of artists and, because of their profession, it's kind of both.”

“The biggest question I get is about hashtags,” says Web Developer and Designer Andrew, “since they're a universal thing, and especially how to use them on Instagram. I also get asked about YouTube a lot since I think it's a widely used platform, but not one most people upload content to.”
