Give Your Brand Personality with Social Media

We’ve posted time and time again about the importance of social media strategy and how it can help enhance your brand. But it does more than just create a following - it also allows you to create a voice for your company. Social media is a great tool to add personality to your business, and gives you control over how it is perceived by the masses.

Social media allows you to personify your business, turning it from a company into something that followers can relate to. Each post is an opportunity to strengthen your brand and build a relationship with potential customers. By adding your personality into the mix, people will have more incentive to support you. Remember, it’s a lot easier to relate to a person than a logo.

Giving your business personality can be fun and should speak to your ideal customer. A couple of ways to do this is by focusing on your language, imaging, and content. You want to make sure that each one is reflective of your brand and targets the appropriate audience. For example, if your business usually caters to millennials, you may want to use more internet jargon and keep it casual (OMG, how easy is that?). It’s important that you don’t alienate others in the process. Own who you are, without insulting others!

Use the same filters for each of your images, so that it looks consistent across your photo grids, and make sure to keep content consistent with your brand. If your company focuses on health and wellness, then you might want to share articles about healthy eating or images of yoga poses. Your audience is following you for a reason, and if your posts are reflective of their interests, then they will be more likely to comment or share.

Don’t feel confined to sharing just informative posts - get personal with it! Tell us about what your morning was like or what motivates you, but make sure you relate it back to what you do. Your business is an extension of yourself, so let your personality shine through. Social media gives you an opportunity to share your passion with others, and that means we want to get to know you too!
