There are a lot of different resources to improve your skill set and increase efficiency, but did you know that there are a lot of them are free? Here are a few of the gems that we have in the heart of Toronto, or available with a quick download that are hopefully useful to you.

The Toronto Public Library host a lot of workshops and classes at different locations throughout the city. There are classes that provide computer training, from learning basic Internet skills to using a 3D Printer. They also have a lot small business programs, where people can sign up to meet weekly to learn things such as financial literacy or how to network.

Bitmaker is a computer training program that has free workshops almost daily. They have a large variety of classes: digital marketing, HTML + CSS coding, UX design, and product management- just to name a few! These are all introductory classes that can walk through users of any skill level to get started on creating something digital, on their own. Learning how to program makes a good foundation for digital marketing, and it’s beyond useful.

There are also always an abundance of free apps that we’ve found to be helpful. Here’s to name a few: the Transit app uses your location to find and tell you the times of the nearest bus, subway, GO train, and even Uber! VSCOCam is a photo editor that goes more in depth in comparison to the editing in Instagram, so you can enhance your photographs even more. Stocard is an app that stores all of your store membership point cards so you can free up space inside of your wallet! And lastly, to get ready for the summer, Quench is a Toronto-specific app that locates the closest water fountains and water bottle refill stations!
