I spend a lot of my day sitting behind my computer typing, researching, editing and emailing. So when people ask me how I can be so energetic when I talk to my clients (or my clients' clients)...
The ideas that people have, their passions and their fears, is what makes all the rest of the work worthwhile and meaningful to me. When I come home at night with good news, it’s usually about these two things:
“Oh my goodness, you should have seen the results we got today on our Facebook Ad Campaign! I’m freaking out – it’s so exciting! I need to tell my high school math teacher that Statistical Analysis is amazing!" (Mr. Heder, if you’re reading this - thanks for Math Class!)
“I had this amazing conversation with X client today. It was inspiring! They are pumped about their results, and now I have 10 new ideas and I’m so excited to see their business continue to succeed.”
What these 2 things have in common is what I talked about in my last post. It is the fulfillment that comes when you are really rooting for each other, when you build genuine relationships. Of course, it’s business, and getting compensated for your efforts is vital, but so often the magic happens for businesses when they start building relationships like these.
So I urge you to reach out to your network (clients, your desired clients and the lovely folks you worked with or went to school with) and interact with genuine interest and passion! Here’s where you can do that:
